Our 1 year long Nurse Practitioner fellowship is currently suspended
The goal of our NP fellowship has been to meet the palliative care needs of Alaska. We prioritized training of NPs that currently practice in Alaska or NPs that intend to practice in Alaska.
Although our dedicated 1-year long fellowship is suspended, when we have an open Nurse Practitioner position in our department we do consider experienced nurse practitioner candidates without specialty palliative care experiences but with experiences that inform their interest to learn and practice specialty palliative care. We do offer a mini-fellowship structured palliative care mentorship and supervision program lasting 6 months of on the job training that is modified from our past NP fellowships, but is of short duration and is includes as part of a traditional full-time nurse practitioner contact.
